Main St. Bungalow

We recently took on a huge project to create a short term furnished vacation rental. We knew Mt. Vernon would be the perfect spot with the convenience of interstate 57 and 64 crossing as well as Highway 37. This location is perfect for travelers just passing through, or staying a while. When we first jumped into the idea of creating a short-term rental option, we had no idea where to begin. However, with much research and tons of shopping we created the beautiful oasis we like the call the “Main St. Bungalow.”

We wanted to pick a theme that isn’t found anywhere near the actual location of the home. We hoped with all our ideas and decorations we could pull a cozy feeling of home with a touch of modern. Our theme was developed by first creating a color palette. Working together we collectively decided to light up the rooms with big patches of burnt orange, bright pops of sage green, mauve mixed with tan accents, and exposed wood finishes.  We added a touch of gold in every room to add a modern feel to the theme. Featured to the right you will see an example of what our color palette created when finished.

The Main St. Bungalow features a open floor with access to every room. Travel in a large circle and you will have landed in the same spot you started. Upon entry, guests are greeted by an entry room featuring a washer and dryer. Following, is a spacious eat in kitchen stocked full of cookware, dinnerware, and fun little extras. A pantry awaits with plenty of dishes and glassware to accompany 6 guests.

Our living area is one of our favorite spots in the home. This open concept room has tons of space for guests to relax, unwind, and enjoy their stay. We provide complementary WIFI access for guests, along with a TV they can use to login to their favorite streaming services. A fluffy couch, accent chairs, and tribal decor and  make the room extra cozy.

Extra comfortable beds, crisp sheets, and fun decor adorn the two bedrooms. Guests are able to rest among two  full size beds and a pull out couch. We wanted to make sure visitors would have everything they needed in order to get a good nights sleep, some of the special extras we included are: flashlights, earplugs, alarm clocks, extra pillows and blankets, lamps, and darkening blinds.

We had so much fun creating this little piece or paradise, and have enjoyed welcoming our first few guests to the property. In total this project took us about two weeks to completely become guest ready. We hope to have made this location the perfect destination whether to stay the night or stay a while.
