Wellco, LLC Receives Downtown Mt. Vernon Development Corporation Small Business Grant

The Downtown Mount Vernon Development Corporation (DMDC) announced 16 recipients for the small business grants that will help downtown businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Sentinel archives, the grants will aim to assist businesses going through a temporary business closure or because of sustainability reduced revenue and operations. Businesses located within the boundaries of downtown Mount Vernon applied for and received one type of grant.
DMDC Administrator Debbie Arning explained that 16 businesses applied for the grants which included American Legion Post 141, Elks Lodge 819, The Bull Pen, RARE Chop House, One Stop Flooring America, Louis Schrum Barbershop, Groomingdales Pet Salon, Guero’s Mexican Restaurant, Daydream Boutique, Lowery’s Irish Pub, Studio B, Tailored Pets, Wellco LLC, Bling Bling Boutique, King City Books, and Dunbar Photography.
“I put in an application for one of the properties that I own in the downtown area, and we were graciously awarded like $375 in funding from the DMDC. It was a time that we need to show unification for the downtown and it was very well received by the businesses and community in the downtown area.”
